Logistics and supply services are the foundation of the Ground Forces’ combat resilience. They are responsible for materiel support, logistics, maintenance of equipment, food, fuel, infrastructure, and other critical processes without which defense, offensive operations, and restoration of combat readiness would be impossible.
- Logistics in the Ground Forces is coordinated by the Logistics Command — a structural element that oversees support units and forms the backbone of a unified rear support system.
- Logistics units maintain weapons and equipment, provide troops with materiel, organize catering, billeting, bath and laundry services, water supply, and the provision of equipment, inventory, and gear.
- Support services deploy field depots, food service points, water distribution sites, fuel points, and other infrastructure necessary for continuous operation of units in combat areas.
- Food supply is organized so that troops receive proper nutrition on time, even in remote areas. Field kitchens, food warehouses, and water supply points are deployed, while food and water can be delivered by ground or air transport as needed.
- Fuel and lubricants support includes the deployment of field fuel depots, the use of fuel tankers and refuelers, the creation of reserves, and the maintenance of stable supply norms. Fuel is a critical resource: without it, maneuver, ammunition delivery, medical evacuation, and the operation of armored vehicles and transport are impossible.
- The experience of ATO/JFO and the full-scale war has shown that without effective rear-area logistics, it is impossible to maintain a stable defense, conduct deep offensive operations, or quickly restore unit combat readiness. Support units are the guarantor of the Ground Forces’ combat capability. Their daily, often unseen work ensures that soldiers have everything they need to defeat the enemy.
